Do I need all this stuff?

Buy Wind Power

NativeEnergy is a privately held Native American energy company. In August 2005, the Intertribal Council On Utility Policy (COUP) acquired a majority ownership interest in NativeEnergy on behalf of its member tribes, marking another significant step in the Great

I just moved into a new house and as I carted box after box into it, all I could think was “why do I need all of this stuff?” I don’t want to toss out these jackets and books, t-shirts and tools. So I have resolved to give a bunch of it away. At the Outdoor Retailer show, I met Ingrid Gordon of Gear for Good, an organization that takes all the equipment gathering dust in the garage and donates it to grassroots activists, people who are working hard fightinng for what they believe is right and who are short on funds. Ingrid is going to get a big package from me.

We seem to think of sustainbality only in terms of tailpipe emissions and wind energy, but concentrating about how much stuff we really need and how we can send the stuff we don’t need anymore off to good homes is one of the easiest and most important things we can do.

Donate to Microbusiness

The best present you can give is the chance for someone in need to be able to thrive. A donation to Micro Business Development does just that by helping disadvantaged people who want to work find the capital to build their dream business. It is a truly sustainable solution, an example of how to actually strengthen our society through economic profit.

Want to think bigger? Convince your employer to donate uneeded products instead of throwing them away.

But make sure you donate to an organization that you belive in whether it be a church group, animal shelter, or even a sherpa relief fund.

Please share your thoughts on where we should send the stuff we don’t need.
