Your 2009 Sustainable Resolution

by Doug on January 8, 2009

Do something now!

How big is your carbon footprint?

Your carbon footprint is the sum total of the amount of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, or CO2, your day-to-day activites (work, recreation, transportation, home, etc.) pump into the atmosphere. Calculating your carbon footprint is a quick and easy first step

It’s that time again. SustainAbler wants to know what simple change you will make to live a more mindful, less wasteful life over the coming year. Mine is quite simple. NO MORE PAPER COFFEE CUPS. I drink a ton of coffee and waste a ton of to-go cups. No more. I’m going to bring my travel mug wherever I go or drink it there. See? That was easy—and I think I can actually stick to it. So what’s your sustainable resolution, big or small. Join the conversation by commenting in that white box at the bottom of this page, and let us know

Donate to Microbusiness

The best present you can give is the chance for someone in need to be able to thrive. A donation to Micro Business Development does just that by helping disadvantaged people who want to work find the capital to build their dream business. It is a truly sustainable solution, an example of how to actually strengthen our society through economic profit.

I’m joining a CSA and starting to compost. Simple enough, but I hope that it’s just the beginning of a more sustainable lifestyle…
